The Vice President of Sales will build and lead our Public Sector business to support IonQ's journey to build the world's best quantum computers to solve the world's most complex problems. This candidate will need to broaden IonQ's reach to commercialize IonQ's Quantum Hardware, Software, and Applications.

Responsibilities:

Create and execute IonQ's North American Public Sector strategyDevelop executive relationships and new partnerships to drive Quantum Economies across North AmericaBuild and develop a strong team and maintain connections with IonQ's client base to drive businessIdentify new opportunities with State, local, Higher Ed, and Academic Medical CentersEducate prospects and clients about IonQ's Quantum OfferingsWork with customers to identify and collaborate on new use casesOversee client satisfaction and successful implementation of IonQ offeringsBuild a robust pipeline of new client opportunities to drive business growthCollaborate with internal departments to drive successful customer engagementsYou'd be a good fit with:

Bachelors or Masters in Business, Engineering, or a related field10+ years technology solutions sales experience and deal making skillsExperience hiring, mentoring, and leading high performing sales teamsExperience driving business in the Public Sector spaceExperience with cross functional coordination with internal and external teams and stakeholdersExpertise in strategy development, negotiation, consensus building and conflict resolutionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to lead and work within a team environmentYou'd be a great fit with:

Knowledge in Quantum Computing Platforms, Algorithms, ApplicationsExpertise and business development experience across multiple industry sectorsRelationships with Academic and Government stakeholdersExperience in category creation selling i.e. creating compelling approaches to sell solutions that are not usually a named category in customer budgetsOur HQ is located in College Park, Maryland and we are a 15 minute metro ride from Washington DC. We have also recently announced our new manufacturing and production facility in the Seattle, Washington area. We are actively building out teams in the Washington D.C., Seattle and Toronto metro areas and will want to locate you in one of these geographies. However, IonQ will be expanding into additional geographies both domestically and internationally so don't let this stop you from applying.
