Valdese Weavers, a 100% employee-owned ESOP company, is a renowned and respected textile mill located in Valdese, NC. With over 100 years of experience, we manufacture residential and contract textiles, persevering through challenging economic times. Job Summary: Keep slasher creel loaded/ready to run, maintain supplies of yarn, substitute for absent employees, and assist as needed to keep the department running.
Tools and Equipment used: Squeeze lift, forklift, beam lift, hoist, and moving truck
Essential Functions:Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and work requirements:Load and unload slashing creel.Lay in hook reeds with help from slasher helpers, if needed.Receive yarn, if necessary (day shift).Put yarn on a conveyor for warping.Transport beams (by truck) to and from other plants.Fill in for employees who are absent from the warping, slashing, or dyeing departments.Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job.Meet deadlines and production quotas.Get along with co-workers.Follow instructions.Work scheduled overtime.Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals.Perform other duties as assigned.Safety:
Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.

Qualifications:Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.Basic reading, writing and math skillsDyeing, warping, and slashing experience preferredValid driver's licenseMust be safety orientedHeavy lifting required
