Job Title: Mainframe Systems Programmer (CICS / Web Services)

We are seeking a Systems Programmer to join our Mainframe Operations team, which is dedicated to ensuring the stability and security of our mainframe environment. The focus of this role will be on managing and maintaining the z/OS operating system and associated vendor products, playing a crucial part within our larger technology team.

As a Systems Programmer, you will apply your expertise in operating systems to manage vendor software, ensure the overall health of the mainframe environment, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will include monitoring system performance, developing automation solutions, and addressing technical challenges through creative problem-solving. In this role, you will engage with vendors, conduct thorough troubleshooting, and work to resolve issues, all while maintaining system reliability and efficiency. You will be working with products and services from vendors such as Broadcom, BMC, Rocket Software, among others.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide support for the IBM Z Mainframe z/OS environment, including CICS and Web Services.

- Manage and secure system upgrades, configuration changes, and ensure compliance with supported release levels.

- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address system issues.

- Enhance the stability and reliability of the IBM Z Mainframe environment through continuous improvement efforts.

- Offer technical guidance and expertise on various IT projects.

- Develop, maintain, and update necessary documentation to support system operations.

- Perform additional duties as required to support the team's goals.

Qualifications:

*Education and experience may be considered in combination to meet qualifications.*

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

- A minimum of 2+ years of experience in systems programming, systems analysis, transaction server administration, or a closely related area.

- Proficient in programming, database management, and systems analysis, with applicable knowledge of related applications.

- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Strong interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with both management and staff.

- Must be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Ability to uphold high-quality work standards.

- Comprehensive application of principles, theories, and concepts within the relevant discipline, along with a working knowledge of related fields.
