The School of Industrial Design (id.gatech.edu) at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia invites applications for a faculty position, Full-Time Lecturer. We seek a candidate specializing in design fundamentals and design-solving processes and practices with a strong track record and commitment to design, research, and teaching. Candidates should have experience and research in one or more areas: furniture design and manufacturing, home goods, interactions between humans and materials, and studio-based teaching experiences.Successful candidates will be expected to teach ID foundation courses and advanced studies with an emphasis on one or more of the research groups identified above. The person in the position will be thoroughly familiar with both the curriculum and career requirements in the fields of industrial design, creative design development, and manufacturing to provide leadership in foundation design curriculum planning and evaluations. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to teaching and mentoring students.Required Qualifications

Terminal degree in industrial design or a related field.Preferred Qualifications

An advanced degree in industrial design or related design studies is preferred.The ability to lead ID foundation projects integrating design practices with innovative education methodologies.The ability to develop studio-based learning pedagogy and establish a creative and collaborative learning environment.The ability to teach lecture and studio-based courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.The ability to mentor and assist students interested in pursuing graduate education.The ability to design and teach curricula that are responsive to a diverse student body.The ability to engage students in experiential learning activities and pedagogy that support student success.The ability to engage in high-impact practices that support deep learning for student success.The ability to foster partnerships with industry or community organizations to advance design practice and innovation.The ability to engage in teaching and service activities within the School, the Institute, and the broader academic and professional communities.Required Documents to Attach
