Summary:

Under the general direction of the Manager of Creative Services, the graphic designer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and revision of new and existing communications materials. Works closely with other departmental team members and clients to develop innovative, cost-effective, and consistent graphic design approaches for a broad range of marketing and communications initiatives while adhering to established brand guidelines.Responsibilities:

Conceptualization:

Contribute ideas and concepts and assist in turning concepts into visual representations. Responsible for the design and maintenance of new and existing printed and digital marketing materials including newsletters, brochures, advertisements, digital banners for social media, marketing templates, presentations, displays, posters, etc.Demonstrates artistic, organizational, and technical skills.Produces files that will image properly to press. Independently supervises printers to achieve a high-quality printed piece.With supervision, manages all aspects of print buying and production on assigned projects, meeting project deadlines and budget on a wide range of low- to mid-budget print projects.Responsible for vendor relations, invoices, bids, schedules, and deadlines as well as delivery and documentation on assigned projects. Controls outside expenditures whenever possible.Responsible for tracking, verifying, and submitting invoices for payment.Knowledge of postal regulations and mailing processes.File Organization:

Creates and maintains organized files and ensures electronic departmental project files are properly stored within our Data Asset Management tool, Intelligence Bank, to facilitate efficient collaboration and future reference.Time Management:

Responsible for project deadlines, communicating as needed with the project manager to review status of work-in-progress.Collaboration:

Participates as a member of the work team to collectively plan, review, and provide for information exchange related to assignments. Collaborates with marketing officers, content specialists, photographers, project managers, digital media specialists, development, and clinical staff. Open to feedback from senior designers or managers and uses it to improve and refine design work.Participates in ongoing independent study, research, education-related professional activities, and affiliations to keep abreast of industry trends, design techniques, and software updates.Consistently applies the corporate values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence and the core Lifespan Success Factors. Is responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the principles of the Lifespan Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.General Departmental Responsibilities:

Participates in various committees, task forces, and quality improvement teams as needed. Works with the broader marketing/communications team to ensure satisfaction of external and internal customers.Other Information:

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field or equivalent experience. Basic working knowledge of print/press production and graphic design including web advertising design. Proficient with Macintosh technology and software, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software and digital banner software (such as Creatopy) is a plus.EXPERIENCE:

Two or more years as a graphic designer with some print production and print buying experience. Knowledge of computer software and design required. Excellent organizational skills and project management skills; ability to effectively coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; ability to adapt to and take full advantage of changing technology in design and print production methods. Job-related experience in healthcare is a plus but not required.INDEPENDENT ACTION:
