MAU is hiring a Graphic Designer for our client in Atlanta, GA.
As a
Graphic Designer,
you will prepare digital artwork for print production. You will have a deep understanding of graphic design principles, print production processes, and the use of pre-press software. You will ensure that artwork meets print specifications, is optimized for the chosen printing method, and is ready for platemaking or digital printing.

7:30 AM - 4:30 PMRequired Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Graphic Design or related fieldStrong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)In-depth knowledge of pre-press software and workflowsUnderstanding of various printing processes (offset, digital, screen printing, etc.)General Requirements
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to meet tight deadlines and work under pressurePreferred Requirements
Experience with color management software (i.e., Pantone, X-Rite)Knowledge of print finishing techniques (i.e., die-cutting, embossing, foil stamping)Understanding of print production costs and estimatingEssential Functions
Receive and analyze design files from clients or internal departmentsCheck for design accuracy, completeness, and adherence to print specificationsConvert design files into print-ready formats (PDF, TIFF, etc.)Ensure proper image resolution, color modes (CMYK, RGB), and file structureAdjust and manipulate images for optimal print reproductionEnsure color accuracy and consistency across different print mediumsCreate color profiles and manage color separationsConduct thorough pre-flight checks to identify and correct potential print issuesVerify fonts, images, links, and color consistencyEnsure proper bleed, margins, and crop marksArrange artwork pages for efficient printing, considering paper size, folds, and bindingCreate imposition layouts for various print jobsGenerate digital and hard copy proofs for client approvalMake necessary adjustments based on proof reviewsCollaborate with designers, pre-press operators, and printers to ensure an accurate and timely productionProvide clear and concise instructions for print productionCommunicate effectively with clients to address design and production concernsPerform other tasks as assigned
