Overview:

The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for the efficient production of high-quality visual assets for print and digital projects. Applies visual and technical design expertise to support the execution of creative concepts. Works closely with the creative director, other designers, and copywriters to fulfill project needs and uphold brand standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

Create graphics and typography for print, digital, email, social, mobile, and other channels; produce multiple versions of assets according to each channel’s requirements for both the M&T Bank and Wilmington Trust brands.

Leverage technical and aesthetic expertise in developing layouts and visual assets.

Support the development and execution of compelling and impactful creative concepts and multichannel marketing campaigns.

Attend and participate in collaborative brainstorming sessions.

Translate product positioning, research, insights, and strategies into effective creative designs and solutions.

Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

Ensure design compliance with project needs and brand standards.

Assist in the assessment and modification of brand guidelines.

Actively seek and incorporate feedback on projects.

Build and maintain a mastery of emerging design trends and best practices that can be shared with the creative team.

Manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Assist in the maintenance and management of content on our marketing automation platform.

Mentor and aid with art direction of more junior team members.

This role is part of the M&T Bank’s internal creative team – AMP Creative Studio. Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, graphic communications, or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ professional design experience; or in lieu of a degree, a combined 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ professional design experience.

A strong portfolio with impactful, imaginative design work for print and digital.

Experience designing end-to-end creative solutions from concept to production.

Understanding of branding and identity design, including a sense of composition, typography, use of color, and eye for detail.

Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, advertising, and multimedia design.

Ability to effectively present and support design recommendations and understand the balance of when to defend work and when to be flexible.

Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients.

Willingness to contribute to creative development and brainstorming sessions.

Comfortable working with a range of internal stakeholders across multiple departments.

Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail.

Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud and Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, etc.).

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Education and Experience Preferred:

Experience working in an agile environment and with agile project management tools (Jira and Confluence) is a plus.

Data visualization skills a plus.

Compensation:

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $79,184.45 - $131,974.08 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
