Job Profile SummaryBroward College is seeking a User Experience Designer to join the Web & Digital Services Team. The UX Designer will play a critical role in creating and designing the digital student experience as the college transitions to a new Student Information System. Under limited direction, this position involves designing and enhancing new and existing digital platforms, including websites, mobile applications, and SaaS products, to deliver a user-first design that is consistent, optimized, seamless, and aligned with Broward College's mission.
Minimum Education:Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Minimum Experience/Training:
Six years of experience in UX design, preferably in an educational setting.Essential Functions:
Research and Analysis
Conducts user research to gather and evaluate user requirements to determine user needs and identify where enhancements can be integrated.Leverages existing and new insights to create and/or refine personas.Identifies and creates journey maps and service blueprints.Design and Prototype
Creates wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps.Designs intuitive and aesthetically pleasing interfaces that meet user needs and follow system specifications.Develops high-fidelity prototypes for web and mobile applications.Testing
Conducts usability testing and gathers feedback to refine, improve, and redesign the user experience.Ensures all digital interfaces are accessible and comply with the latest WCAG standards.Collaboration and Communication
Works closely with stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to gather requirements and understand user needs.Collaborates with web developers, graphic designers, content creators, and information technology to implement design solutions.Prepares and presents design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders for feedback and approval.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UX design projects, demonstrating both creative and analytical skills.Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, InVision, or similar.Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Organization and prioritization of project tasks and responsibilities
