Web SEO StrategistMarketing and CommunicationsFull-Time
Southeast Missouri State University's Marketing & Communication department seeks a talented and motivated Web SEO Strategist. The SEO Strategist will play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence, driving organic traffic, and improving our search engine rankings. The strategist will work closely with our team to ensure digital content is written, optimized, and aligned with our strategic goals.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective SEO strategies to increase organic traffic and improve search engine rankingsConduct comprehensive keyword research and analysis to identify opportunities for content optimizationWrite engaging digital content that is SEO-friendly and optimized for target keywordsMonitor and analyze website performance using SEO tools and analytics platforms, providing regular reports and insightsPerform on-page and off-page optimization, including meta tags, link building, and content recommendationsStay current with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to ensure SEMO remains competitive in search rankingsWork with the web team to ensure website structure and technical SEO elements are optimizedConduct competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities in our SEO strategyProvide SEO training and guidance to internal teams to promote best practices across the organizationEnthusiastically collaborate with team members to achieve University goals, create effective campaigns, and elevate the SEMO brandRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, computer science, writing or a related fieldStrong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and SEO best practices with a passion for staying current with industry trends and technologiesProficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO platformsSuperb attention to detail as well as strong written, communications, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insightsSuperior time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and the discipline to deliver projectsKnowledge of content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML/CSSRequired Information & Deadline
