But 1/10 people get food poisoning each year, and 2/3 of food waste is edible. The system is broken, and that's our opportunity. Our mission is to make use by dates digital.We replace use-by dates with smart labels that measure freshness, and AI that predicts shelf-life. The founders invented this technology as PhD scientists, and we're using it to improve the whole supply chain, starting with food producers.This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing start-up changing an ancient industry with new tech.The RoleYou’ll be working directly with the CEO and Sales Director to grow our customer base, generate demand, and form new industry relationships to secure ARR contracts.Your ImpactIncrease BlakBear's customer base in the food industry by targeting food processors and supermarkets in North America.Learn and iterate an effective sales process.Improve product alignment and encourage a feedback culture that shapes the company's future plans.As our first full-time hire in the US, you will have a big impact on our culture. You’ll join two senior US team members (currently part-time), and the rest of our 12-person team based in London UK.What you'll bring to the roleWe expect you to work remotely from the US, with attendance on customer sites and conferences.Key experiences & Skills2-5 years of enterprise sales experience with emerging technologies; preference for candidates with BDR/outbound prospecting experience and subsequent experience in a closing role (AE).A track record of winning complex deals involving multiple stakeholders and high ASP (> $50,000 ARR).Experience winning new logos; additional experience expanding accounts will be viewed favorably.Experience with outbound prospecting focused on named accounts, including developing outbound cadences and messaging.Ability to build support from technical stakeholders and sell business value and ROI to executive sponsors and budget holders.Commercial experience across early-stage and high-growth startups.Bonuses :Experience selling technology to food producers and supermarkets.Experience with selling hardware-enabled SaaS products B2B.PersonalitySelf-driven and pro-active, showing initiative to advance the company.Motivated to make a lot of money while creating a positive impact.Team player with demonstrable emotional intelligence.Clear, straight-talking and intelligent spoken and written language skills.Our BenefitsWe'd like you to be our expert on business development, growing into a Leader in our company, with a significant shareholding.
