We are seeking a proven

DevSecOps Engineer

with strong systems, software, and Agile DevSecOps experience to join our team in the

Washington Metropolitan Area

in support of a Federal customer. The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in the IT field focusing on supporting messaging, message routing, and connecting service layers to APIs. Architecture is AWS lambdas based.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Drive DevSecOps methodology to execute government development requirements in test, development and production environments.Update and maintain technical solution.Perform analysis of existing system architecture; add findings to the backlog. Provide recommendations for streamlining and optimizing solution.Complete Cybersecurity IV&V, develop POAMS, mitigate findings, update documentation, diagrams, and other cyber artifacts.Continue deployments into Production.Continue implementing prioritized backlog.Integrate with monitoring solution.Analyze message traffic handling, autoscaling for optimization and improvements.Enable strangler patterns to support decommissioning of Legacy systems.Continue to support backward and forward compatibility.

Work Experience

5 or more years of experience in software development including managing complex DevSecOps environments for multiple projects.Extensive expertise in Agile and DevSecOps approaches, and experience using many of the tools common to a Development/Test Tool Suite.Experience in implementing DevSecOps practices such as build/release management, automating security processes in CI/CD pipeline, and general automation.Experience using agile and DevSecOps practices including Git version control with pull/merge requests, automated testing, security scanning, and quality analysis of developed software.Experience with automated infrastructure setup for multiple projects using DevSecOps automation.Experience architecting, building, and testing front end and/or back-end solutions using cloud services such as AWS.Experience with designing and engineering data management / data persistence solutions; preferably with AWS services including RDS and Elasticsearch.Experience implementing data compliance and governance solutions.Experience with Docker and/or OCI compliant containers and tooling.Experience architecting, developing, deploying, and maintaining applications in a CNCF compliant Kubernetes platforms.Experience with CNCF compliant Kubernetes services such as Rancher RKE, AWS EKS, Elastic Stack, and Prometheus.Experience with DoD security and compliance processes such as RMF, SRGs, STIGs.Experience engineering solutions in classified and air gapped environments.Experience with applying STIGs is preferred.

Education

BS in Computer Science / Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology or related field required, advanced Degree is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses And Registrations

AWS or any other cloud architect and automation related certificates desired.Ability to obtain SECRET Clearance.

Communication Skills

Solid ability to interface, inspire and motivate at various levels of the organization.Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals.Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.

Environmental Requirements

Mainly sedentary; in an office environment. May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.Flexible in working extended hours occasionally.
