The Special Assistant to the Vice President of Instruction and Learning Services is a temporary, part-time position, working 15-20 hours/week, that completes assignments as directed by the Vice President. The Special Assistant will work in two areas: occupational and transfer programs.The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of

belonging, diversity, equity and inclusion

in students, faculty, and staff.This position will help improve student access and program completion and address workforce and education needs in the Great Lakes Bay Region and beyond. Projects include but are not limited to managing workforce grants and assisting in planning online program delivery for out-of-state students according to the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), along with other projects assigned by the Vice President.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to the Following:Workforce Grant Management:Attend grant meetings to become acquainted with the status of Academic Services grants.Help monitor grant progress towards goal attainment.Help identify and prepare new grant applications that align with the College’s mission and capacity.Assist in monitoring grants towards goal completion.NC-SARA Services Management:Help with the development of a student-friendly website for out-of-state students.Help process-map program pathways for out-of-state students.Monitor data related to out-of-state programs.The Special Assistant to the Vice President will work collaboratively across Academic Services, Student Educational Services, Finance and Administration, and Institutional Research departments in workforce grant and NC-SARA services management.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with five – seven (5-7) years of experience demonstrating complex project work.Knowledge of academic program development, curriculum planning, and assessment.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Demonstrable knowledge of data-informed decision-making.Familiarity with student development theories and practices.Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across multiple departments.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Additional Experiences Considered:Experience working in a community college.Application Deadline:
