Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Controller to operate as the financial leader of the company. As a key member of the executive management team, the Controller will directly report to the CEO and work in partnership on the business strategy development and overall management of the company. The Controller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, tax, treasury, audit, forecasting, strategic planning, legal, and institutional financing. The successful Controller will focus on profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Directly supervise all accounting and financial functions.Oversee the financial close process, ensuring accurate recording of transactions (including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations).Collaborate with the accounting team to analyze financial data, identify variances, and address discrepancies.Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to comply with accounting standards and regulations.Create and document procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the close and reporting processes.Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues, working closely with departments.Identify opportunities to decrease financial surprises and enable informed decision-making by leadership.Drive efficiency and professionalism in finance and accounting functions.Assess and develop existing team members to optimize the finance function's performance.Coordinate financial and operational analysis with internal and external partners.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial guidance and answering inquiries.Stay updated on accounting standards, industry trends, and regulatory changes.Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business; CPA preferred, MBA preferred.7+ years of experience at a senior financial level with substantial management and operational exposure.Manufacturing experience required.Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).Experience in finance, tax, financial planning, analysis, reporting, management information systems, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, project management, as well as the development, implementation, and presentation of related reports and statements.Strong organizational leadership abilities with a willingness to "get hands dirty" and act as both a player and a coach.Our client acknowledges that equal opportunity for all persons is a fundamental human value. Salary: $180000 - $230000 per year
