Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a
Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer/Sr. Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in
Palmdale, CA
and is assigned to the 4/10-1st Shift (Mon-Thu) - 10 hours/day schedule.
Essential Functions:
Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.
Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines, customer, and suppliers during the development of design solutions.
Concise presentation and explanation of system design issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
Development and review of completed models, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer (T03):
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 5 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM with 3 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM.
Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) (Not needed to start).
Experience in a combination of ECS, Fuel, Powerplant, Landing Gear, and Hydraulic installations.
High level of proficiency using CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft Subsystem Installations.
Basic Qualifications:
Sr. Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer (T04):
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM related field with 9 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM with 7 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM with 4 years of experience.
Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) (Not needed to start).
Experience in a combination of ECS, Fuel, Powerplant, Landing Gear, and Hydraulic installations.
High level of proficiency using CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft Subsystem Installations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.
5 years or more Aerospace Subsystems design experience using CATIA V5.
Experience working on military aircraft.
Salary Range:
$97,500 - $146,300
