SummaryThe Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for completing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks related to the accounts payable operations of the organization. This role includes active involvement and interaction with different departments and external stakeholders. This position is based in Phoenix Arizona or Denver Colorado. Our strategic flexibility allows for local work from home opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following:

Completing a high monthly volume of vendor payments by check and ACHReconciling all corporate credit cards on a monthly basisTaking full responsibility for all aspects of Contexture’s accounts payable processesPreparing check and AHC payments journals for Controller approvalInteracting with internal departments to coordinate vendor payment processesMaintaining vendor files within Contexture’s accounting environmentMaintenance of strong internal controls and adherence to company policies and proceduresDocumenting and maintaining internal policies and proceduresCollaborating with finance team members and other department staff to sustain and strengthen the financial health of the organizationServing as a backup for Contexture’s employee benefits enrollment and tracking reconciliation process in coordination with the Human Resources DepartmentPerforms other related duties as assignedQualifications

Skills

Experience working in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is optimal but not required (other accounting software experience is a plus but not a substitute for Dynamics)Excellent attention to detailExcellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholdersHighly proficient in Microsoft Excel; moderately proficient in other MS Office applicationsCommitment to Contexture’s mission and strategic directionProactive attitude and lots of initiativeStrong interest in process improvementAbility to explain financial issues and concepts in non-technical, concise termsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsHigh energy, positive, “can-do” attitude and attention to detail and deadlinesStrong sense of personal responsibility in achieving the organization’s goalsHighly developed multi-tasking skills to handle multiple project activitiesTeam builder as well as team member with all Contexture staff and external entitiesMust occasionally be available for after-hours work, outside of normally scheduled hoursEducation/Experience

Minimum of 3+ years of accounts payable experience required (non-profit as well as private sector is a plus). Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or another related field preferred. Experience working in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The person in this position needs to frequently communicate and exchange information and move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a keyboard, monitor, calculator, copy/scanner machine, and printer. Frequently moves office and work-related material weighing up to 10 pounds; Occasionally moves office and work-related material weighing up to 30 pounds.
