Staff Accountant - 3 Month Contract to Hire - Fully Remote but must live in California.
Pay up to $41 per hour w2 based on experience.
P&L and Balance sheets needed - Reconciliations
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our team in California. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.Responsibilities:
General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain general ledger accounts and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.Reconcile the eCommerce Division Monthly – Book Sales – Reconcile Cash Transactions – Shopify is a plus.Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of forecasts.Tax Compliance: Support tax preparation activities, including gathering documentation and providing necessary information to 3rd Party Tax Processing Company.Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and propose solutions for improvement to enhance accuracy and efficiency.Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by management, providing financial expertise and analysis as required.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel is a must (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.Knowledge of California tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
