Job DescriptionThis OpportunityWSP USA's Climate Resiliency and Sustainability practice has an immediate opening for a Senior Consultant, Data Analysis & Engineering to support the company's growing Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change offering. Other WSP office locations or remote options may be considered for an exceptional candidate.The individual will support a client-facing team to solve next-generation sustainability challenges through data intelligence and strategic program development, design, and implementation. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility and capacity to work on a wide variety of projects and the demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional teams. Candidates should be passionate about sustainability and data, self-motivated and self-directed, collaborative, and able to produce high-quality work products.Your ImpactDuties and Responsibilities:Developing and maintaining business intelligence dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), visualizations, and analytical toolsDesigning, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading sustainability databases and platformsEstablishing ETL processes to collect, clean, and transform sustainability data across a variety of data systems and structuresPerforming advanced data analysis such as scenario analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learningSupport development of scopes and budgets for data-focused projects and tasksPreparing inventories, performance metrics, and reports for energy, GHG, water, waste, and other resource dataDeveloping trainings and internal education resources to support growth of internal analytics capabilitiesSupporting the identification and evaluation of opportunities to achieve energy, GHG, and resource reductionsResearching leading sustainability programs and initiativesProducing sustainability reports, disclosures, and other communicationsManaging projects and project teamsSupporting business development activities with existing and prospective clientsGathering business requirements for data use and business caseWho You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree with concentration in Computer Science or Data Science, Engineering, Energy, Sustainability, Public Policy, Environmental Studies or relatedMinimum of 6 years of related professional experience in data engineering, analysis, business intelligence, and/or dashboard development with recent focus on sustainability, energy, engineering, management consulting topicsAbility to design, implement, and maintain dashboards in Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or comparable programsAbility to implement advanced analytical techniques such as data cleansing, statistical analysis, machine learning, and/or predictive modelingAbility to engage directly with clients to document and translate client business requirements into tangible project tasks, milestones, and/or other deliverablesAbility to develop and present analyses using programs and functionality such as Power QueryAbility to derive accurate, clear, and meaningful insights from large and complex datasetsAbility to work independently, multitask, and manage time efficientlyAbility to collaborate remotely across geographies and platformsWell-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrityStrong oral and written communication skills and use of programs including Microsoft Word and PowerPointExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesPreferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in Computer Science or Data Science, Engineering, Energy, Sustainability, Public Policy, Environmental Studies.Expertise in data engineering, database design, and database administration in different environments, such as SQL ServerCompetence in programming for data analysis (e.g., SQL, R, Python, DAX, M) and ability to learn new software systems and toolsKnowledge of GHG, energy, water, waste, and other sustainability resource metrics and KPIsExperience scoping and budgeting data services and products with an understanding of team capabilitiesFamiliarity with sustainability issues and frameworks such as CDP, GRI, DJSI, SASB, and the GHG Protocol preferredExperience working in virtual environmentsRelocation assistance is not available for this position.WSP Benefits:WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.Expected Salary (Colorado only): $72,800 - $135,300WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
