Nordson MEDICAL works with doctors, start-ups and large medical companies around the world at any point in the product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.Job SummaryThis role can be hybrid to those that are within driving distance to East Providence, RI.The Market Innovation Manager drives market analysis to determine areas of investment for growth. This role is one of a small team of peers who will work closely together to identify and analyze growth markets and work with their R&D counterparts to deliver integrated investment proposals. Key to success in this role is to have an external orientation, high level of curiosity, and ability to bring structure and process to a cross functional team.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentify market opportunities to drive innovation and new product development:Determine attractive markets verticals and potential applications through a combination of primary and secondary researchChampion best practices for Voice of Customer (VOC) analysis.Partner with R&D to identify Jobs to be Done and Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) attributes

Build business cases for company investments

:In partnership with R&D, determine initial product concepts and represent that commercial side of development proposalBuild financial models and present investment proposalsGain cross functional buy-in and leadership approvalProject and portfolio management:Ensure a healthy pipeline of innovation ideas at the top end and at each stage of the funnel.Coordinate cross functional teams and bring structure, measurement, and accountability towards ensuring innovation process execution and speed.Leverage influence management approaches to align teams.Lead market and competitive intelligence:Partner with Product Managers to prioritize and identify key competitors for analysis and monitoringFollow leading indicators and market trends for target growth marketsEducation and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred. Degree in Business Administration field is preferred.7-10 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree or 4 - 7 years of relevant work experience with a Master's degree.3+ years of experience in B2B companies in a marketing or customer-facing roleKnowledge of Project Management approaches and techniquesFinancial acumen and comfort with investment modelingExperience with market research toolsAbility to lead through influence and partner with multiple different functions, including R&D, Operations, and SalesPreferred Skills and AbilitiesExperience working in or selling to the medical device, life sciences, or related industriesPractical experience with Voice of Customer (VOC) techniques, such as iDNA, BluePrinterPMP Certification or related project management certificationWorking Conditions and Physical DemandsOffice environment.
