The Business Control Manager - Preferred Project Execution is a member of the Consumer Investments (CI) Supervision Leadership Team and reports to several different stakeholders potentially including other Division Supervision Managers (I and II) and the Complex Products & Platform Supervision leader, while keeping the Business Segment Supervision Executive (BSSE) informed on significant matters. The Strategic Initiatives Manager is responsible for the development of new and the enhancement of existing Supervision technologies, processes, and strategies which exist within the broader Supervision Organization. By developing close partnerships with the CI Supervision Leadership Team, the CI Platform and Business Risk Team, the Capital Markets Team/Investment Solutions Group (ISG), the Credit Risk Team, and the related Platform, Digital, and Technology teams, the Business Strategy & Intelligence Manager will prioritize and drive CI Supervision's operational excellence agenda.

Within this role, the Business Strategy & Intelligence Manager may or may not manage direct reports from time-to-time given business needs. He or she functions independently, or with minimal guidance, but must keep the Business Segment Supervision Executive informed on significant matters. The Business Strategy & Intelligence Manager supports the company's business objectives and contributes to responsible growth by monitoring and preventing manipulative market activities in ways that minimize regulatory, financial and reputational risks. She or he is actively involved in the development of Consumer Investments written supervisory policies and procedures (WSPs) and will support the creation and implementation of supervisory controls and procedures for all activity impacting the line of business including additional product offerings, services or processes.

  • Prior experience managing projects and executing change within a financial services firm
  • Excellent proficiency using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint


Desired Qualifications:
  • FINRA Series 7, 8 or 9/10, 24, and 63/65 or 66, or their equivalent
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and the firm's multiple data repositories (Strategy Data Platform, EdgeWare, DB2, etc.)
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to manage complex project(s) simultaneously in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem solving skills, excellent analytical and presentation skills; ability to synthesize complex data into actionable presentations / reports and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients
  • Self-motivation, self-direction skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks to meet extremely compressed deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation), active listening skills, influencing and facilitation skills
  • High level of credibility with executives, various line managers and business partners; demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and drive to results
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products such as Project, SharePoint, and Visio

  • Proven experience with managing a large, complex group of stakeholders and ability to communicate effectively and influence decisions to achieve desired results

Enterprise Job Description:
This job is responsible for leading and executing on internal control discipline and operational excellence within a Line of Business (LOB) or Enterprise Control Function (ECF). Key responsibilities include executing LOB or ECF processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide standards. Job expectations include supporting the implementation of quality assurance and quality control processes within the LOB or ECF through ongoing monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation, and building out actions plans and milestones.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the assessment of the design and effectiveness of the risk and control environment to support Client Operational Services and ensure adherence to enterprise-wide standards
  • Performs monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation
  • Leads the implementation of optimized controls and enhanced Quality Assurance (QA) practices to support business continuity efforts
  • Manages the performance and productivity of team members that conduct quality inspection reviews
  • Ensures timely execution of QA activities including control execution, case management, and results reporting
  • Manages and reviews all operations front line unit responses for regulatory exams, internal audits, and other monitoring and inspection reviews
  • Ensures accuracy of data and that relevant information is captured for inspection metrics to support governance for dashboard reporting
