The Privacy Analyst will support efforts to grow and develop privacy and data protection objectives for Ameris Bank. Translate legal/policy/technology requirements and business objectives into processes, capabilities, and controls to drive privacy culture across the organization. Work closely with business partners to assess privacy risks, communicate requirements, and recommend appropriate controls and remediation activities. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
• Provide privacy subject matter expertise for Ameris Bank business units
• Ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams across a financial services organization to integrate privacy policy/standard requirements.
• Proficient in problem solving to enable business objectives while applying privacy and risk management principles.
• Conducts risk management and assessment operations to generate report data for management.
• Support privacy and security activities that will strengthen the protection of customer information.
• Identify trends in privacy reporting and notification requirements to support privacy policies and incident response capabilities.
• Support data subject action requests that align to relevant privacy laws and regulations.
• Conduct investigations of suspected and reported violations of privacy laws and policies.
• Maintains privacy policy, standards, and procedure documentation across the Bank.
• Engages with legal and privacy leadership to form recommendations on policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organizations privacy function.
• Participate in projects and initiatives as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of Privacy and data protection principles.
• Prior knowledge and experience within a privacy practice or office.
• Proven influencing skills and the ability to create and drive strategy.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Solid project management skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management.

Industry and Work Experience:
• 3+ years of prior financial services or highly regulated industry experience is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in the data privacy field is recommended.

Academic:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in business, information management, or computer science or related field preferred.
• Certification(s) in business continuity preferred.
