II. Job Summary:

Accountant – Accounts Receivable and Grants prepares and issues recycling invoices based on units of service, and government grant invoices based on expense reimbursement, and collects outstanding balances.III. Core Job Functions:

Prepare and issue monthly invoices to cities, counties, partners, haulers and other customers for recycling services. Use units of service data provided by warehouse staff.Prepare and issue monthly expense reimbursement invoices to various government agencies and non-profit organizations accurately and timely. Maintain supporting documents for various auditors.Provide supporting documents for various government auditors and agency audit. Participate in monitoring visits.Work closely with Advancement, Program and other Finance staff to spend down grants appropriately, request extensions and request budget revisions.Collect outstanding accounts receivable balances. Manage customer credit account requests and status.Reconcile accounts, enter journal entries, and provide other general ledger duties as assigned.Backup Senior Accountant functions.Backup functions performed by Manager – Accounts Receivable and Grants.Perform any other tasks and duties necessary in order for the agency to meet its mission.IV. Position Requirements:

Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience.Two years of accounting experience preferred.Accounts Receivable experience preferred.Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesDemonstrated skills in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with high level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with specific knowledge of pivot tables and the use of formulas.Knowledge of financial/accounting software (Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT preferred).Excellent work organizing skills.Excellent detail management skills.Ability to work effectively in a mission-driven agency whose clients and staff reflect significant diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, socio-economic status, nationality and religion.Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.Basic fiscal management skills, including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting.Understanding of uniform guidance and federal allowable costs preferred.V. Working Conditions and Environment:

Enterprise: Incumbent will have a private office/designated workspace in a typical office environment. The building is multiple floors and fully accessible and is smoke-free. Working hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, but schedule is flexible. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary. Hybrid location schedule with days worked from home are available. The noise level in the work environment is usually low, but sometimes moderate.
