OPPORTUNITY The IT Help Desk Support Specialist's role is to provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization's technology environment through NerdFone, Green Dot's IT, IS, and Data Science and Analytics (DSA) help desk. NerdFone serves hundreds of Green Dot users each week and seeks to resolve technology challenges the moment they occur. The IT Help Desk Support Specialist will work from 7:30am-4:30pm M-F, serving in NerdFone and supporting the Central Office in areas of Desktop Administration including technology deployment, inventory, and support. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, analytical, detail-oriented individual with technical support experience and a passion for education. This position is part of the Green Dot IT team and reports to the IT Manager. This role serves as part of Green Dot California's central office team, primarily based in Los Angeles.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES > Provide excellent customer support and timely responses and solutions to all stakeholders in the Green Dot organization. > Escalate issues and questions to ensure appropriate resolution > Serve as a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization's technology environment through NerdFone, Green Dot's IT, Information Systems, and Data and Analytics help desk > Collaborate and build strong working relationships with network administrators, network engineers, desktop administrators, application engineers, and DSA analysts to ensure the efficient operation of the organization's many technologies > Collaborate with the IT team to implement security measures and ensure data protection. > Monitor desktop performance and perform regular maintenance tasks > Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control for desktop systems > Create and maintain documentation related to desktop configurations and procedures. > Assist in the setup and maintenance of audiovisual equipment and conference room technology > Perform additional duties as assigned > Normal business hours are 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday-Friday (although these hours are subject to change and may vary and may require occasional evening and weekend work based on organizational needs). Minimal or no travel required, other than visits to local school sites (as needed)

QUALIFICATIONS As an ideal candidate, you:

> have a computer science degree or related field preferable, or a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience supporting desktop computer equipment in an enterprise environment > have a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience > have 3+ years of professional experience supporting desktop computing environment in an enterprise setting > have relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (a plus) > are proficient in desktop operating systems (Windows and Macintosh) and common software applications > possess excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint (preferred) > are able to lift a minimum of 40lbs > have advanced knowledge of Google Apps, Google Drive, and other core GSuite products (preferred) > are adept at asking clarifying questions to ensure understanding > possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including communicating with senior management > have highly effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills > have strong customer service skills with the ability to deal with problems with calmness and goodwill > have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail > can maintain strict confidentiality as it relates to student and employee data > are self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and with little supervision > have experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment > are able to adapt to change quickly > have a strong desire to make a positive social impact > are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot's mission and the communities we serve > will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer

COMPENSATION The starting hourly rate range for this role is $29.81 - $37.86. Please note that candidates who are new to their role or newly promoted can expect offers between the minimum and the mid-point of the range. To allow for salary progression over time, offers at the top of the range are rare. Individual education and experience will be considered when issuing offers.
