Our multi-disciplinary data team plays a fundamental role in this mission by partnering closely with product, engineering, and business teams to develop a culture of leveraging data to inform and shape our strategy.DescriptionWe are looking for an accomplished data science and analytics leader, who has experience managing a team of individual contributors with a diverse range of skills - spanning product analytics, exploratory analyses, experimentation, modeled causal inference, and reporting. Across all methods and skills, the overarching goal is always to improve decision-making for iCloud through the use of data. This role partners closely with business and product teams across ASE. We’re looking for someone who has:Experience hiring and leading high-caliber, data-focused teams with diverse technical backgrounds;Experience partnering with business, product and engineering teams to define project roadmaps and integrate metrics and analytics into the broader engineering plans;The willingness and ability to get hands-on with the data, driving projects forward and unblocking the team when necessary;A track record of applying statistics and experimentation to business areas, and influencing product decisions;The ability to autonomously identify opportunities and investment areas for the larger iCloud Data organization, that lead to better outcomes for iCloud;Experience building and fostering an inclusive team culture.Minimum Qualifications3+ years in a leadership role for a data science team.8+ years in a data science or analytics organization.High tolerance for ambiguity. Able to find a way through, anticipate, connect and synthesize.Excellent verbal and written communications skills and experience communicating technical concepts to senior executive audiences in order to influence decisions with data.Ability to think about data in terms of statistical distributions and have a big enough analytics toolbox (e.g. Statistics, Machine Learning) to know how to find patterns in data, identify targets for performance, and identify sources of variance about those targets.Self-motivated and curious with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities, and an innate drive to improve how things work.Strong work ethic and attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications6+ years in a leadership role for a data science team.You have experience presenting to senior leadership (VP- to C-suite audiences).Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Physics, etc.Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
