The Ohio State University, Division of Human Genetics and the Division of Hematology, is seeking a dynamic genetic counselor for a clinical excellence faculty position in the growing clinical care area of benign hematology genetics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge clinical care and research in the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Treatment Center and Hemoglobinopathy Programs, leveraging our state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative environment. In addition to clinical and research responsibilities, the role involves active engagement in teaching and mentoring. The candidate will play a role in shaping the next generation of genetic counselors through seminars, course instruction, and clinical rotation supervision. This position also includes opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, PhDs, and basic scientists, fostering a synergistic approach to Hematological research and clinical care.

Performance Objectives

Clinical faculty members are dedicated to academic clinical practice, education, and translational research in adult genetic specialties. Our genetic counselor faculty collaborate closely with physicians and staff throughout The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Responsibilities include active participation in the provision of clinical genetic services in our Hemostasis and Thrombosis Treatment Center clinics; teaching genetic counseling graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows; building out new clinical service areas, and working on a translational benign hematology genetics research program.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required : Degree in Genetic Counseling
