Position Summary:Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, seeks a Senior Research Specialist for the Center for Health Services Research (CHSR) at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research (IFH). The incumbent will act in a project leadership capacity managing major state and federally funded studies with responsibilities including leadership and monitoring of study activities, health policy research guidance, interfacing with investigators at multiple institutions and state agencies, and writing scientific progress and final reports. The Research Specialist will be expected to conduct qualitative research across multiple projects within the Center.Key Duties:Leads study activities/project management of health services research studies.Monitors study progress and deliverables; assuring completion of tasks as scheduled.Assures completion of necessary project-related scientific tasks including IRB, DUA and other necessary components.Develops and maintains data collection systems using Qualtrics, Microsoft Access, or similar data collection platforms.Questionnaire development/revision as well as the development and maintenance of instruments and rubrics for the collection of mixed-methods study data.Collects qualitative data through key informant interviews, focus groups, and other methods; conducts qualitative data analysis.Prepares interim and final scientific project reports for funded research projects.Co-leads and collaborates on the writing of scholarly publications from current and future research studies.Leads or co-leads policy briefs and other public-facing documents.Develops drafts of funding applications.Contributes independent ideas for in-progress and future scholarly publications; develops paper proposals, outlines, and sections.Drafts relevant scientific sections for new grant proposals, including background, significance, impact, study design (quantitative and qualitative methods).Leads or co-leads the writing of scientific research protocols that use large administrative datasets for Institutional Review Board and DUA applications.Suggests potential analysis, creates table shells, and provides guidance to data analysts including analytic specifications.Minimum Education and Experience:A bachelor's degree in a related scientific field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of general research principles and practices.Also requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional research experience, excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.City:
