We are looking for a Director, Software Engineering to join our NIOS Software Engineering team located in Santa Clara, CA, reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering. In this role, you will manage a team of engineers and work closely with the rest of the Engineering organization to build our NIOS software platform. You will oversee various ongoing efforts, including sustenance of current releases, feature development, defect analysis, resolution, and software release management. You will also partner with our largest customers to ensure they can deploy our products successfully and derive value out of them.

Manage agile development teams in a continuous integration environment and reliably deliver high-quality software on schedule while ensuring development efforts meet corporate quality objectives and launch targetsDrive product development from requirements to delivery and work with Product management to define user stories, manage development sprints, and coordinate development efforts with other teamsChampion development best practices within the organization, including but not limited to design, architecture, re-use, performance, and qualityPrioritize and manage resource allocations based on changing business priorities, direction, and budgetAttract, recruit, and retain capable individuals to build high-performing teams and establish mission and purpose for individuals and teamsPerform career coaching and personal development, evaluate performance, including team input, and provide guidance and corrective actionsInteract with executive management regarding development issues and opportunitiesInteract with customer executives to manage product expectations and deployment outcomesParticipate in customer escalation calls, offering technical insights and guidance while maintaining customer satisfactionCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate customer feedback into product enhancementsWhat you’ll bring:

20+ years of experience in software technology with at least 8 years of experience building and mentoring high-performance development teamsSolid knowledge developing and debugging in C, Python, and Shell scripting in a Linux environmentOutstanding knowledge of software design, data structures, and algorithmsNetworking knowledge and experience with DNS and DHCP protocols is a plusFamiliarity with database design, scalability, and performance is strongly desiredProficient in Linux system programming and familiar with networking protocols such as TCP/UDP/IPExperience with high-availability systems and client/server architectureProven record of accomplishment of handling customer escalations and participating in high-stakes technical discussionsExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams, Infoblox leadership, and customersBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required and a Master’s degree is preferredWhat success looks like:

After six months, you will develop your knowledge of our DDI solution, Grid technology, and our development processesEstablish a working interlock with our Support and Sales organizations and participate in critical customer escalationsInteract with geographically diverse development teams, delivering value to our customersAfter About a Year, You Will:

Work with our Engineering and Product Management teams to define requirements and design new applications for our DDI solutionsChampion quality, innovation, and efficiency in our development infrastructure, architecture, and processesFacilitate the successful adoption of our DDI products by working with our customers, identifying enhancements, and prioritizing developmentActively manage customer escalations, be the primary point of contact from engineering on critical escalations, and have a strong interlock with Sales and Support teamsWe’ve got you covered:

You can expect our employment offers to take many factors into consideration, including but not limited to location of the role, internal equity, applicable past experience, individual skill set, education and professional certifications. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned is the base salary range for the role.
