OverviewDovetail Brewery is seeking a taproom manager. The Dovetail taproom is the most important front-facing element of our brewery, and the ideal candidate will know how to be the steward of a space that fully embodies Dovetail: who we are, what we do, what you get, and how you feel. The new taproom manager will drive the taproom’s success, defined as the combination of customer satisfaction, staff happiness, positive teamwork, and healthy financial performance. Most importantly, the taproom manager will foster a safe, comfortable, accepting, open, friendly, and fun environment for customers and staff alike.Dovetail is an award-winning brewery with a highly motivated, professional, and passionate staff. This means that the new taproom manager will have to love the work, enjoy hard work, and take satisfaction in getting results.

ResponsibilitiesBusiness PlanningDevelop goals, strategies, and tactics for the Dovetail Taproom during annual business planningDevelop, manage, and meet or exceed agreed-upon quarterly and annual targets for revenue, in-house events, private events, costs and expenses, labor, and miscellaneous goods or suppliesStaffingCreate and foster an environment that is safe, comfortable, accepting, open, friendly, fun, and team-orientedSet taproom team schedules in a fair, safe, and efficient manner, complying with all applicable laws and maintaining labor budgetsTeam structuring within defined budgetHiring and firing of staff, seeking guidance and approval from Supervising DirectorDiscipline: refer and report all actions that require disciplinary actions including termination to HRSubmit accurate report of staff hours to Supervising Director and PayrollAssist with staff scheduling and volunteer coordination during Dovetail festivalsCoordinate with Sales Director to staff off-site events as neededOperationsDevelop, maintain, and continuously improve a highly effective communication system with the staffDevelop, maintain, and continuously improve taproom SOPsDetermine operating hours and entry policies with approval from the BoardDetermine pricing strategy with input from management team and approval from boardMaintain accuracy of POS systemOtherEffectively manage the following areas:Brewery ToursIn-House EventsPrivate EventsCleaning, Maintenance, and OrganizationAnd support the following areas:MarketingAccountingQuality ControlPurchasingFood trucks and pop-upsPhysical RequirementsOccasionally lift and move 55 to 160 pounds (½ bbl)Occasional bending, stooping, pushing, lifting, kneeling, and reachingMust be able to stand for at least four hoursClimb stairs several times a dayMicrosoft Office or Google Workspace equivalentExperience in Orchestrated Beer or equivalent ERP systems preferred, but can be trainedCompensation and BenefitsSalary range: $54-60K plus incentive-based plan.
Full-time employment benefits include retirement, healthcare, and generous paid-time-off (15 paid vacations, 7 personal days, 11 holidays) after a 90-day probationary period.
