This role offers a hybrid work option, meaning you can both work from home and commute to a LinkedIn office, depending on what’s best for you and when it is important for your team to be together.LinkedIn is looking for a Manager, Technical Program Management for their Production Infrastructure Engineering (PIE) TPM org. The right candidate will have demonstrated solid leadership in leading and managing teams and programs to deliver successful outcomes. This candidate is expected to manage a group of TPMs, partner with key technical leaders to define, prioritize and drive project portfolios and establish the right project management governance practices and frameworks with the larger engineering org.The ideal candidate will have an excellent balance of people, organizational, and technical skills, and can execute and deliver successfully in situations where authority is not a given. Interaction and leadership across functional lines is essential.Responsibilities:
Lead, build and manage the PIE TPM team. Hire, develop, mentor and coach Technical Program Managers for TPM craft and build a high-performing team.Manage TPM assignment and allocation and ensure portfolio and project health through appropriate resource allocation, prioritization and focus.Develop strategic project roadmaps and resource plans in partnership with the leadership team. Partner with technical leadership on project execution and delivering successful outcomes.Evaluate, champion and drive adoption of the right project management methodologies throughout the organization.Help teams be more efficient, and see the big picture and ensure processes scale appropriately with the company.Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, expertise, innovation, and learning.Leads efforts to resolve project conflicts and establish appropriate resolution paths.Manage dependencies between multiple projects and have the ability to understand the big picture across engineering.Mentor individuals in best practices for project planning and execution.Develop strong partnerships with technology and business leaders.Assess and mitigate risk exposure.Basic Qualifications:
B.S in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.3+ years of people management experience managing technical and/or technical program management teams.5+ years of full-time program management experience within an Engineering or Infrastructure organization.Preferred Qualifications:
Practical and advanced understanding of managing the lifecycle of large-scale programs and projects.Excellent communication skills; skilled at cross-functional and cross-organizational communication and attention to detail.Experience with software engineering practices and familiarity with coding techniques.Comprehensive knowledge of Agile methods and practices through multiple teams (Scrum and Kanban).Ability to traverse both vertically and horizontally in a large organization.Successfully traverse tactical and strategic objectives.LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $134,000 to $221,000.
