For further information, see www.bachem.com.A brief overviewThe Director / Sr. Director of Production oversees all production operations within their department to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed within the operational budget. The Director of Production oversees all assigned personnel. The incumbent will select, hire, and train new employees and contribute in appointing managers and supervisors; routinely evaluate team members to ensure standards of performance are met and assign responsibilities for each project. The Director of Production implements quality-control programs and policies, routinely analyzes production budgets, and makes changes as necessary. Throughout the production process, the Director oversees the process to ensure safety procedures are followed and performance goals are met. The Director of Production also creates production reports for review by top executives.What you will doSupervise and manage a team of Production Managers, Chemists, and TechniciansDirect and work with the production team of managers, chemists, and technicians to manage production workflow, schedule, and qualityMonitor production activities and adjust the schedule to ensure on-time deliveryDevelop process improvements to optimize production speed and qualityEstablish and enforce production and quality standardsMotivate team members to deliver exceptional work and exceed expectationsOrganize job training for team members to achieve business objectivesMaintain all production-related documentation for future reference purposesEnsure that the final product meets quality standards and customer specificationsUnderstand customer requirements and prepare production plans accordinglyCreate, update, and implement policies and procedures for manufacturingEvaluate new equipment and technologiesEnforce cGMP guidelinesMaintain a clean and safe work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of control points, equipment, and resourcesMaintain compliance with established safety policies and written proceduresDevelop growth opportunities for employeesMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, benchmarking state-of-the-art industry practices, and participating in professional societiesEnsure that reporting employees receive adequate environmental, health, and safety trainingEnsure that any operating or occupational accidents and incidents involving employees reporting to you are properly recorded and investigated to a productive conclusion, including ensuring employees are appropriately monitored and managed to address unacceptable levels of performanceEnsure a positive safety culture is developed within the area, supported by robust safety processes in accordance with industry standards and legislationEnsure safety arrangements are adhered to and protect the health and safety of employees, visitors, contractors, and the publicQualificationsPhD in Chemistry or related field with 5-10 years relevant experienceMaster's Degree in Chemistry or related field with 10-15 years relevant experienceBachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field with 15-20 years relevant experienceManagerial experience in cGMP manufacturingPeptide and oligonucleotide manufacturing experience in upstream and downstream manufacturing (preferred)Strong knowledge of chemical engineering along with cGMP manufacturing focusProficient with large scale manufacturing and process developmentProficient with various in-process analytical methodsExcellent written and oral communication skillsBasic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environmentAbility to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issuesDetail-oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and analytical problemsAbility to work independently and manage one’s timeCommunicate effectively and function well in a team environmentBase Salary Range:

Director: $119,776 - $164,692.
