Summary:

In 2024, Ohio is a frontline battleground state with competitive races up and down the ballot. Ohio must re-elect Senator Sherrod Brown in what will be the nation’s top targeted race in 2024, determining the control of the US Senate. This year will also offer the chance to take control of the Ohio Supreme Court, make gains in the state legislature, and defend three battleground congressional seats.The Deputy Constituency Director will play a fundamental role in the Constituency Department and will be key in working with the political and organizing departments on the campaign. The Deputy Constituency Director will execute the constituency plan to engage Hispanic and AAPI communities in Ohio. Their main goal will be to build a bridge between political engagement and community organizing within the state. This position is full-time and based in Columbus, Ohio.Responsibilities:Execute the overall 2024 Coordinated Campaign’s statewide program and contribute to the constituency department.Coordinate with the Sherrod Brown Political Team, specifically the Hispanic and AAPI outreach managers and the Coordinated Organizing Team, to build a bridge for collaboration on community events and engagement.Support the Organizing Team in coaching turfed and community organizers to build critical relationships, expand the electorate in Hispanic and AAPI communities, and create a visible presence for the campaign.Build relationships with key constituency organizations and collaborate on direct voter contact events across Ohio.Conduct regular meetings and correspondence with Hispanic and AAPI stakeholders in coordination with the Sherrod Brown Political Team.Assist the Constituency Director with program execution and help maintain systems, databases, and political tools.Train Regional Organizing Directors and Community Organizers on Hispanic & AAPI engagement.Support the Constituency Director with logistics and execution of GOTV Mobilization Events in key constituencies across the state.Collaborate with ODP Hispanic and AAPI Caucus on DVC actions.Collaborate with the Comms team and aid with Spanish translations.Preferred Skills & Qualifications:At least 2 cycles of organizing or political experience preferred, with a strong preference for at least 1 cycle of experience in either a Regional or deputy role on a statewide program in Ohio.Dedicated to working cross-departmentally to build a positive working relationship between the Organizing and Political Departments.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; especially as applied to building an inclusive culture that supports staff professional and skills development.Bilingual in Spanish with an ability to translate strongly preferred.Experience with NGP VAN and other crucial data and digital outreach infrastructure.Attention to detail and developed organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of our organization.Commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ticket in Ohio.Application Process:

Application Form .The Deputy Constituency Director reports to the Constituency Director and is represented by IBEW Local 1466. This position is salaried at $6,480 per month and provides full benefits including PTO as needed, health, dental, and voluntary vision insurance. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and within the parameters of your Collective Bargaining Agreement. Driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required; this position will include regular travel.
