As part of our dynamic and collaborative team, you will have the opportunity to impact human health on a global scale.Position Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist to expand the horizons of our DELVE platform which is designed to unlock the therapeutic potential of the viral proteome. This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of scientific innovation to unlock novel approaches to leverage and develop the potential of evolutionary optimized proteins. With a focus on viral proteins, your work will involve exploring their mechanisms, interactions, and potential applications in regulating human physiology. Further you will evaluate and develop delivery platforms to achieve optimal subcellular and tissue specific localization. Finally, you will collaborate closely with a cross-disciplinary team of scientists and researchers to design, conduct, and analyze experiments aimed at providing ‘Proof-of Concept’ data that demonstrate the therapeutic potential of viral proteins in diverse

in vitro

and

in vivo

disease models.Key Responsibilities:Lead research projects to explore the therapeutic potential of viral proteins in various diseases.Design and execute laboratory experiments and analyze data to evaluate hypotheses and drive project advancement.Stay abreast of the latest scientific advances in life science, proteomics and drug delivery and apply cutting-edge techniques and methodologies in your research.Collaborate with computational biologists to analyze proteomic data and predict protein interactions and functions.Write research papers, reports, and present findings at scientific conferences and to non-scientific stakeholders.Work with the intellectual property team to patent viable discoveries.Mentor junior scientists and technicians in laboratory techniques and scientific theory.Qualifications:PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Virology, Immunology or a related field, with a strong background in protein science or biotechnology.Minimum of 12+ years postdoctoral experience in a research environment.6+ years of industry experience with a track record of developing innovative platforms or products exemplified by top-tier publications or patents.Experience in gene or protein delivery using emerging modalities such as lentivirus, LNPs or AAVs.Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Experience in CRISPR, RNAi technologies, and other gene-editing tools is a plus.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge in autoimmune diseases, oncology, or infectious diseases.Experience in bioinformatics and computational biology tools.At Flagship, we recognize there is no perfect candidate.
