The Role: We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) skilled in tax preparation and experienced in tax resolution to lead a small, but growing Tax Preparation department. You would be replacing the current CPA who has already built a well-functioning department. This role requires a balanced focus on tax return preparation and handling specific tax resolution, including audits and payment plans.
Responsibilities:
Prepare timely tax returns for individual and small business clients.
Analyze and resolve tax-related issues, including audits, payment plans, and other compliance matters with IRS and state tax authorities.
Provide strategic tax advice and planning to minimize liabilities and maximize compliance.
Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and updates to deliver reliable client support.
Collaborate with their assistant and the team to enhance client service and develop efficient tax solutions.
Qualifications:
Active CPA license.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation and resolution.
Proficient in handling IRS and state tax authority negotiations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and client service skills.
Spanish Speaker (preferred but not required).
