What you’ll need to succeed as a Senior Accountant at XPOBachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience2 years of accounting or financial reporting experienceSolid math aptitudePreferred qualifications:Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance, or BusinessCPA certification3 or more years of accounting or financial reporting experience, preferably with a Big Four accounting firm1 year of experience working in a medium to large, multinational company, preferably with Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management tools (HFM, Hyperion Essbase or other financial reporting/consolidation software)Solid ability to understand and research large amounts of data from multiple sourcesAbout the Senior Accountant jobPay, benefits and more:Competitive compensation packageFull health insurance benefits available on day oneLife and disability insuranceEarn up to 15 days of PTO over your first year10 paid company holidays401(k) option with company matchEducation assistanceOpportunity to participate in a company incentive planWhat you’ll do on a typical day:Assist with consolidation of legal entitiesBe responsible for accounting areas of coverage with a focal point around risk, medical, benefits, auto liability, workers comp, and more.Ensure accuracy and completeness of timely accounting information, analysis, and reporting following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies and proceduresAccurately and efficiently maintain the general ledger accounts; analyze, understand and interpret trends and variances and explain fluctuationsSupport month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting closes for areas of functional responsibilitySupport external audit, internal audit, and SOX complianceComplete and oversee monthly reconciliations of corporate-managed self-insurance reserves, and reconciliation and intercompany accountsComplete and oversee monthly shared service allocationsSupport the preparation and distribution of monthly accounting management reports and statistical analysis data for areas of responsibilityComplete respective SOX controls and related testing proceduresAd hoc analysis and process improvement projectsAbout XPOXPO is a top ten global provider of transportation services, with a highly integrated network of people, technology, and physical assets.
