Reporting to the Supervisor, Project Management Team, this position will lead vehicle function development through the V-Cycle Development Process from requirements definition through system validation for their assigned projects. This position will coordinate and align global requirements, hardware and software development, electrical development, and testing.Job Functions/ResponsibilitiesLead product development through initial design concepts, project budget and schedule development, risk identification, and mitigation.Coordinate technical development of components (both hardware and software) with technical leads within the department.Serve as the liaison between truck division Program Managers and Embedded Engineering teams to understand program risks, development activities, and technical issues.Ensure intellectual property coverage for new Embedded Engineering technical ideas.Lead technical review meetings related to assigned projects.Coordinate functional safety reviews and track completion of safety concepts.Build and present product development updates to senior leadership.Lead continuous improvement for software design and validation processes.Support ASPICE process integration throughout PACCAR.Adhere to PACCAR global corporate standards for embedded system development and validation.Develop, manage, and improve Embedded Engineering department procedures.Support department staff with training on procedures and processes related to embedded systems.Skills & QualificationsRequired
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree.3 to 7 years of design experience in electrical systems, embedded components, or software systems.2 to 7 years of experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.3 to 7 years of experience in the full lifecycle process for software development using established project management methodologies.Excellent communication skills and time management skills.Experience using project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira).Ability to travel domestically and internationally for up to 2 weeks at a time, no more than 10% yearly.
