Trupanion is seeking a highly motivated and experienced insurance regulatory specialist to join a fast-paced environment to help grow our Company and the medical insurance for pets category.In this role, you will be an integral part of the Company’s Regulatory and Compliance Team, and your responsibilities will include managing state regulatory relationships, partnering with our business to develop new products, overseeing governance for our insurance companies, and advising the Company on regulatory issues. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week.What you will do:

Partnering with U.S. insurance regulators on regulatory matters, including inquiries, market conduct examinations, and financial examinationsFurther enhancing strong relationships with U.S. regulatorsWorking with our actuarial and finance teams to file new products and file annual financial statementsEnsuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulationsLicensing individuals and entitiesAssisting with audits, both internally and of our business partnersPartnering with business owners--such as Marketing--to design and implement initiatives in a fully compliant mannerOverseeing governance for U.S.-based insurance companies and agenciesExperience you have:

Five or more years of regulatory and compliance experience in the insurance industryA law degree and/or an insurance producer’s license, a plusPrior experience engaging with insurance regulatorsAbility to fit into a fast-paced entrepreneurial environmentAbility to demonstrate sound and practical business judgment, sometimes in ambiguous situationsAbility to articulate complex insurance regulatory concepts and risk to leaders across the company and our external business partnersWhat you'll bring:

The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $200,000 on a full-time schedule.Along with base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members.
