Overview
With over 30 years in practice, one of the country’s leading architectural & interior design firms specializing in life sciences, education, and workplace is actively seeking a Project Architect to join their Mountain View, San Francisco, or Sacramento office. The studio specializes in the design of laboratories, clean rooms, manufacturing facilities, data centers, and high-performance workplace environments, for clients working in the life sciences, electronics, mission-critical, education, and medicine.
With 180+ staff, they provide programming, master planning, building, and interior design services, including laboratory, cGMP, and medical planning, to new and established companies, institutions, developers, and healthcare providers.
Role Requirements
Project Architect, Bachelor of Architecture with
California license required , with a minimum of 5 years of technical expertise in life science, laboratories, agriculture technology, GMP, and/or commercial architecture including demonstrated success as a project architect on a range of
science & technology project types .
Qualifications
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with confidence and professionalism
Exceptional organizational skills
Proven capacity for leadership responsibilities and directing a team
Ability to work effectively on multiple projects, to set priorities and maintain schedules
Design development experience, planning, coordinating and overseeing production of construction drawings.
Experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy
Contract management, experience negotiating project scope and fees
An understanding of building materials, details, and construction techniques
A thorough knowledge of building codes, standards, and ADA expertise
Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines
Advanced knowledge of QA/QC process
Ability to work constructively with entitlement agencies
Ability to coordinate consultants and contractors
Construction administration skills
Must have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, PhotoShop, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam
