Process Automation Regional Sales Director

What will you do?

This role is accountable for leading the north sales region and formulating sales strategy for the assigned territories and/or products/solutions. Develops strategies and schedules to meet the goals and objectives. Provides coaching and development activities for the sales team necessary to ensure execution of plans. Responsible for providing ongoing support to high-value clients. Implements business strategies to achieve profitable business relationships and identify new revenue opportunities with major accounts.

Develop sales forecast, budget and manpower plans. Defines markets, market potentials and appropriate sales strategies for the area.Partners with customers/distributors to plan strategies, provide quality services, train customer's personnel and provide support necessary for attainment of customer's goals and objectives. Anticipates obstacles and identifies alternative strategies.Formulates, communicates, implements and evaluates strategic and tactical sales plans. Monitors outside (or inside) sales performance. Provides coaching and development activities necessary to ensure successful execution of plans.Maintains active relationships with SE customers. Negotiates discrepancies between customer's expectations and SE's.Assists staff in dealing with specific target audiences such as distributors, contractors, industrials and utilities.Coordinates sales activities in the area with other areas and national account management to penetrate national accounts.Negotiate and construct appropriate terms of sales.Constantly improve relationships with strategic partners including customers and distributors.Drive the development of the team.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?Experience working with distributors would be highly desirable.Strategic self-starter with ability to identify gaps, opportunities and resources to accomplish the desired business objectives.Proven team leadership skills.Must be skilled at selling compelling, integrated programs to clients. Should be customer-centric, solutions-focused, articulate and comfortable building relationships at senior levels.Excellent communication skills.Effectively work with diverse groups i.e. management, engineering, purchasing and indirect sales both internally and with customer representatives.Technical experience in the automation industry is an asset.

Travel:

This role requires 50% travel within the assigned north region territory of Chicago, IL, Detroit, MI, Boston, MA or New York. It is preferred for the candidate to live in the region and reside near a major airport.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?10+ years in sales and sales management functions.4+ years of second-level management experience (or equivalent).Bachelor's degree is mandatory.Experience in the automation of the high-tech industry is essential.Experience in determining and managing sales quotas of $50m+ is mandatory.
