Located in our downtown Denver office, you will be responsible for preparation of sales and use tax returns, processing of sales and use tax payments, reconciliation of data, and research surrounding sales and use tax questions, for approximately 40 states.Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for analysis and assessment of sales and use taxes primarily for the City of Denver and State of Colorado jurisdictions; includes analysis of taxable purchases allocated throughout the U.S.Perform timely and accurate filing of all sales and use tax returns and payment of taxes due in state and city jurisdictions throughout the U.S.Responsible for staying abreast of all tax regulations, as well as driving process improvement/automation, detection and remediation of any errors or process defects and inefficienciesManage tax exempt statuses, sales tax refunds, and closure of tax accounts in jurisdictions where taxes are no longer being paid or requiredMonitor company card email inboxes and respond timely to requestsAnalyze monthly accruals for company card programs; including performing clean-up of aged transactions within our expense reporting and Citibank accountsPrepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations as assignedParticipate in monthly close activities and reporting requirementsManage supplier set-ups in Oracle, to include proper tax classifications for year-end 1099 reportingEnsures compliance with Mandate for Fundamental Financial Controls and existing SOX matrixes, identifies, and recommends controls changesParticipates in and supports testing and audit activitiesParticipate in special projects as assigned, which may include opportunities to work on advanced analytics and additional accounting functionsOther related responsibilities may be assigned as neededABOUT YOU

BS in Accounting or Finance with three to five years of specific tax analyst experienceSolid understanding of sales and use taxGeneral understanding of basic accounting conceptsExceptional attention to detail and accuracy of dataAbility to take direction and work independentlyHighly proficient in Excel with ability to manipulate large quantities of data; experience with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP's mandatorySelf-motivated, capable of seeking quality solutions and continuously focusing on process improvements, while keeping the needs of the business in the forefrontDemonstrated problem solving with an understanding of appropriate escalation pointsExtremely organized with an ability to juggle multiple priorities and flexible to accommodate changing business needs and tight deadlinesComposure under time pressure; demonstrated reliabilityStrong written and verbal communication skillsTakes responsibility for personal developmentKnowledge of Alteryx and Oracle a plusMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorshipPAY & BENEFITS
