Lennar Foundation Medical Center, Coral GablesThe University of Miami, Lennar Foundation Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a CTU/Infusion/Oncology Registered Nurse 2. The incumbent will be a professional Registered Nurse who will administer standard chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, research study and non-chemotherapy medications. He/she will administer care to oncology patients as well as with multiple disease processes and research study patients. Monitors therapeutic responses and side effects, and obtains pharmacokinetic blood samples and other laboratory specimens as required by each protocol. Assists in maintenance of up-to-date protocol information in clinical areas.Responsibilities:

Administers standard chemotherapy, research study agents, biotherapy agents, and non-chemotherapy medications.Monitors therapeutic responses and side effects, and obtains pharmacokinetic blood samples and other laboratory specimens as required by each protocol.Assists in maintenance of up-to-date protocol information in clinical areas. Documents in a concise, accurate, and legible manner according to clinical practice standards.Supports patients and their families during trial treatment. Works to educate patients and their families about their treatment and protocol requirements. Utilizes independent learning methods to become knowledgeable about new protocols and protocol changes.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures.Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred. RNs hired with an Associates (ASN) degree have 2 years to complete the BSN degree.Oncology Nurse Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course required. Oncology certified (OCN) preferred.Minimum of two (2) years of oncology nursing experience to include recent experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents.Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods and procedures, in-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (i.e. sanitation, decontamination, etc.).
