Culture Biosciences is looking for a
Director, Software Engineering . This role will play a key part in shaping the product and team that will build core infrastructure and will lead a team of talented software engineers.What You'll Do
Responsible for shaping the technical vision and goals of the software engineering teamPartner with the Product Management team to align the technical roadmap to product strategyLeverage deep understanding of technology to make decisions on scalable architecture, devops tools, infrastructure improvements, and process optimizationsOperate as an engaged leader with cross-functional teams and provide subject matter and technical expertise for multiple development projectsOversee adherence to cybersecurity protocolsEnsure effective, on-time shipping of product improvements and featuresDevelop and improve upon existing engineering KPIsRecruit, train, and develop a high-performing teamLead the day to day operations of the software engineering teamManage a team of engineers through providing technical guidance, support and mentorshipFacilitate and coach software engineering teams on engineering requirements estimate and work sizingHold regular 1:1’s and skip levels to ensure staff engagement, development and create avenues for feedbackConduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for professional growthAbout You
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) majors10+ years of combined software development and management experience with increasing responsibilities3+ years of managing software organizations over 10 peopleExperience managing full stack engineering teamsExperience with Cloud Services architecture with:Amazon Web Services (primary)Google Cloud Platform (secondary)Experience with tools and programs including:GithubLinear / JiraCircleCIPythonNew RelicSentryIntercomCypressSlackGoogle workspaceExperience at an early to mid-stage startup.Experience managing software development for equipment monitoring/control would be valuedIn return, we offer a supportive environment. This is an onsite hybrid position. We’re looking for someone based in the San Francisco Bay Area who is able to work in person at our office in South San Francisco at least 2 days per week (Tuesday & Wednesday are our common office days).Base Salary Range
Culture Biosciences's compensation package includes market competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, and great benefits. Our expected salary range for this role is
$245,000 to $265,000 . We are hiring for multiple levels and backgrounds so final offers may vary within the range provided based on experience, expertise, and other factors.Benefits
