Job Summary: The Anatomy Learning Institute is seeking candidates for multiple adjunct teaching positions, as well as adjunct faculty to develop curricula in the anatomical sciences (Gross anatomy, embryology, neuroanatomy & histology). Salary: PLNU adjunct pay: Using a 3-unit full semester appointment as a pay guide, the adjunct pay range is $4,860 - $6,480. The units will determine the actual salary. Job Status: Part time Job Description: RESPONSIBILITIES Teach undergraduate and graduate level anatomy courses Work with human body donors (cadavers) to teach prosection or dissection-based curricula Prepare prosected human materials for teaching Invest in students’ professional development Participate in Point Loma Nazarene University activities as appropriate Mentor students in research or professional experiences as appropriate QUALIFICATIONS Doctorate preferred; master’s in anatomy accepted Extensive experience working with human body donors to teach anatomy Potential for outstanding teaching as demonstrated by prior classroom in person and online experience Experience creating new curricula at the undergraduate or graduate level (for persons developing curriculum only) Ability to work collaboratively with College of Health Science faculty in course instruction and/or design Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and a desire to work in a Christian university. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Please realize that there may not presently be an adjunct position available. When an opening becomes available for which a candidate would be a good match, the department chair will be in contact with that candidate for further dialogue, interviews, etc. Approved applicants will remain in the adjunct pool for the upcoming school year only. To be reconsidered for the following school year, applicant will need to reapply.
