Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their White Plains, NY team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in employment law, particularly in the public or educational sector, and be adept at providing legal counsel on various employment-related matters. The position involves handling litigation, advising on employment policies, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Duties:Provide legal advice and guidance on employment law matters, including hiring practices, employee relations, terminations, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour issues.Manage employee disciplinary matters, labor grievances, arbitrations, and collective bargaining negotiations.Represent clients in administrative tribunals such as the Public Employment Relations Board, Office of Civil Rights, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and New York State Division of Human Rights.Handle employment-related litigation from discovery through trial, including drafting discovery motions, motions to dismiss, and summary judgment motions.Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making and provide stakeholder recommendations.Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements and policies.Provide legal advice on education-related matters, including special education services, and handle impartial hearings.Collaborate with clients’ internal stakeholders, including HR, management, and other legal teams, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Stay informed about developments in employment law and advise on potential impacts to the organization.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active membership in good standing with the relevant State Bar association.5-7 years of relevant experience practicing employment law, preferably within the public or educational sector.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.Experience with state and federal court litigation.Solid background in employment law, focusing on organizational compliance, governance, arbitration, and litigation.Education law experience is a plus.Skills:Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.Proven track record of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Location:
