The Senior Accountant is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and overseeing payroll accounting. The Senior Accountant will assist with general ledger research, analyzing payroll liability accounts, and evaluating payroll postings to ensure they are financially appropriate and in line with company expectations.Who You Are

General Ledger management - Responsible for ensuring Payroll Liability balances are correctly stated by maintaining a quarterly reconciliation including various payroll taxes and other employee benefits programs. Reconciling variances are identified and resolved in a timely manner.Assists with the monthly closing process for the Corporate departments by reviewing various Accounts Payable transactions, general ledger postings, and preparing/reviewing supporting schedules.Payroll postings - Responsible for managing all activities related to posting payroll transactions to the general ledger system. Update and maintain general ledger coding for the payroll interface, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Document and resolve any errors in payroll postings promptly to maintain data integrity.Payroll accounting - Manage all payroll accounting activities posted to the general ledger. Perform accrual analysis to ensure payroll expenses are properly recorded in the correct period. Conduct budget for actual analysis related to payroll costs. Review general ledger entries for payroll and participate in intercompany reconciliations where necessary.Payroll bank account reconciliation - Review and reconcile payroll-related bank accounts regularly. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or open issues identified during the reconciliation process. Ensure all payroll transactions are accurately reflected in the bank statements and general ledger.Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure compliance with payroll accounting policies and procedures.Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function as well as implement best practices to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy.Provides ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by management.Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.2+ years in benefits analysis or payroll accounting required.Working knowledge of Oracle HCM, Hyperion Essbase, MRI AP/GL and Quantum is preferred.Understanding of a variety of software applications is essential, including HRMS systems, and how they interface in order to manipulate data.Solid computer skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a must.Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, communicate effectively, draft written communication materials, and strong problem solving skills necessary.REWARDS
