POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Senior Clinical Director oversees the clinical operations, functions and activities for a multi-program Substance Use Disorder Treatment Center. This person is responsible for delivering strategic direction and implementing the organization’s high-quality vision. An excellent Senior Clinical Director is an influential manager with the ability to lead and motivate. The goal of this person is to provide leadership in the oversight and improvement of clinical operations to ensure quality, client-focused service delivery.

This key leadership position will manage a team of clinical directors in providing oversight to our 4+ treatment programs located in the St. Louis metro area. This position will report directly to the Chief Program Officer.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Execute clinical practices while adhering to all local, state, and federal agency regulatory guidelines to maintain the highest standards of excellent, effective treatment.

Monitor our multi-faceted clinical programs ensuring integrity of the agency’s mission while overseeing the continued development of comprehensive outpatient care and residential programs.

Undertake the full range of duties relevant to the leadership, management, and development of the staff to ensure their performance meets and or exceeds both the business and their own personal goals and objectives.

Maintain an effective organizational structure and delegate appropriate authority for completion of assigned responsibilities.

Educate staff on clinical philosophy and mission.

Achieve budgeted financial objectives.

Focus on census-building efforts and strategic planning.

Work closely with Quality Director to identify deficiencies in programming and establish improvement measures.

Ensure treatment environments are safe and conducive to company's treatment modality and quality standards.

Knowledge of administrative, personnel, client and clinical policies and procedures, and ability to comply and communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.

Maintain a positive, results-oriented work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced, and objective manner.

Ensure effective intra-agency communication and share responsibility for establishing highly effective relationships with other Senior and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment of clinical operations processes.

Conduct performance reviews for direct reports.

Participate in hiring and termination process.

Proactively source talent by aligning recruitment, training, development, motivation, and retention of staff.

Monitor and maintain effective and efficient staffing patterns, within budgetary restraints, to ensure sufficient coverage in all departments.

Develop positive relationships with local industry, local government, potential key health care providers, and the general public.

Represent the organization at meetings with external attendees.

Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintains a current working knowledge of trends within a substance use treatment industry and with Local, State and Federal regulatory requirements and guidelines.

Clear understanding of customers' needs preferences, interests, timelines, and decision-making criteria.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed mental health clinician including LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or psychologist.

3+ years of experience working in substance abuse or mental health facility.

1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.

Solid knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.

Knowledge of Local, State and Federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management.
