Position Summary:Under supervision, performs the full range of duties from specimen procurement through specimen and/or blood/blood component processing/handling and performs a wide variety of repetitive technical procedures and/or standardized tests according to established protocols. Assists in equipment maintenance, quality control, allocation/issuing products such as blood/blood components and tissue for transfusion medicine, inventory control, and performs all clerical functions including but not limited to data entry, maintaining records, answering phones and providing results.What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobOne year clinical laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMust be willing to provide weekend and holiday coverage on a rotational basis and variable shift assignment(s) as neededGood communication skillsMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesPreferred Qualifications:Good computer skills including knowledge of various software applicationsMinimum 16 units of applicable Science (such as Chemistry, Biology) and Algebra at the college levelConditions of Employment:Background Check and Live ScanLegal Right to Work in the United StatesVaccination PoliciesSmoking and Tobacco PolicyDrug Free EnvironmentThe following additional conditions may apply, some of which are dependent upon business unit or job specific requirements.California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting ActE-VerifyPre-Placement Health EvaluationDetails of each policy may be reviewed by visiting the following page:
