Sr. Ultrasound Sonographer

Must have flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate to other sites and work shifts (8, 10 or 12 hour), also cover for weekends and holidays and on-call shifts. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all Medical Center locations and variable shifts per department needs.

Perform diagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology for interpretation:

Obtain appropriate patient clinical information from requesting physician and/or service prior to performing exam.

Prepare patient for imaging.

Prepare room and equipment prior to imaging and after completion of exam.

Demonstrate appropriate self-critique of exams to include ability to recognize sub-optimal techniques and equipment malfunctions.

Meet physical requirements to perform all aspects of diagnostic sonography studies in the inpatient as well as outpatient settings, including but not limited to: performing portable exams, transferring and transporting gurney and wheelchair.

Maintain RDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school.

Requires ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.

BLS - Basic Life Support certification.

Requires (2-5) years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, and/or equivalent experience in a similar Ultrasound department.

Maintain ARDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.

Ideal Candidate:

Hospital and pediatrics experience.

Ultrasound experience in areas: OB, thyroid, transplant, kidney, liver, pancreas, sterile procedures.

Team player, motivated, leadership, communication, adaptable.

Be open to rotate to different sites and work variable hours.

Must-Haves:

Require ARDMS in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography.

Requires previous ultrasound experience: OB, thyroid, transplant, kidney, liver, pancreas, sterile procedures.

BLS Certification.
