Sr. Ultrasound Sonographer - CAAHEP Ultrasound graduate, AB and OB/GYn Registry

Position Overview:Must have flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate to other UCSF sites and work shifts (8, 10 or 12 hour), including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations and variable shifts per department needs.Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology for interpretation.- Obtain appropriate patient clinical information from the requesting physician and/or service prior to performing the exam.- Prepare patient for imaging.- Prepare room and equipment prior to imaging and after completion of the exam.- Demonstrate appropriate self-critique of exams to include the ability to recognize sub-optimal techniques and equipment malfunctions.- Meet physical requirements to perform all aspects of diagnostic sonography studies in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including but not limited to: performing portable exams, transferring, and transporting gurney and wheelchair.- Maintain RDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.Minimum Requirements:- Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school.- Must have flexibility in scheduling and ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.- Requires ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.- BLS - Basic Life Support certification.- Requires (2-5) years of UCSF experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or equivalent experience in a similar Ultrasound department at UCSF. New hires who meet criteria of equivalent experience and credentials held must also have equivalent Senior Sonographer skills; the Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer title may be granted at the discretion of the Section Chief and Section Supervisor.Skills and Certifications:- ARDMS in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography.- Previous ultrasound experience.- BLS Certification.- Graduation from a CAHEEP accredited ultrasound program.- Flexibility in scheduling and ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.
