are the front-line; the heart and soul of Certis Security's Aviation operations at Adelaide Airport. No two days are the same in this diverse role, giving you the chance to use your versatile skillset in many ways working as part of a collaborative, close-knit team. Aviation security is an important industry, keeping travelling passengers and their loved ones safe in the air - and with this, comes some important theoretical knowledge. Certis will cover the cost of your training, including a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118) and 40 hours On-the-Job Training . The
Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP)
is a nationally recognised qualification and is a requirement for all Aviation Screening Officers and is completely FREE with our Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45583).Note that to progress into a permanent position you are required to successfully complete the
Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP)
and, at the end of your On-the-Job Training, be deemed capable of making independent screening decisions.What you'll be doing

While the specific duties of an ASO will vary throughout your shift, you'll commonly find yourself:Operating various points of the screening process; ensuring passengers, staff, visitors, and their possessions are safely checked and cleared for entryControlling access to security sensitive areas by undertaking physical searches, identifying dangerous or hazardous items, and remaining vigilant at all timesScreening for any security threats in checked and oversized baggageMost importantly - providing the best possible customer service in a safe and professional manner!About you
Our ASOs come from a variety of backgrounds and skillsets, and that's what makes the Certis team so great. To help set you up for success in your new role, some of the important things you'll bring are:Strong customer service skills, with a demonstrated ability to assist customers and provide information in a clear and understandable mannerAn exceptional focus on safety and compliance; you pride yourself on your attention to detail - previous security experience is desirable but not essentialEnjoyment working in a team-based environment and an understanding that we all need to collaborate to achieve our goalsA sense of level headedness, with an ability to make decisions and operate effectively under pressure, even at the busiest of timesIt is a condition of employment that you must have the ability to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), which will be provided by Certis Security. In addition, you must be able to commit to full availability across a 24/7 roster comprised of early morning AM shifts and evening PM shifts, with a minimum of 56 hours per fortnight. This does mean that you will require a valid driver's license (full or provisional) and a reliable vehicle, as public transport does not run to the airport 24/7. Finally, for everyone's safety we require our ASOs to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (or hold a relevant medical exemption).What else is in it for you?
