Starting a $115,000/year + bonus (commensurate with experience)We are looking for an Associate General Counsel with at least four (4) years’ experience for an innovative multi-generational single family office and its’ related endowed non-profits. Responsibilities include assisting with corporate compliance, contract drafting and negotiations, strategy and planning, litigation management, and providing counsel to the General Counsel and executive management. The Associate General Counsel should offer creative and efficient solutions that accomplish programmatic objectives, with care given to applying preventive legal strategies, and compliance policies to minimize risk and provide creative legal solutions.ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic legal support to business and real estate transactions, corporate structures, corporate compliance, and internal operations, including human resources, unique to a family office, and other internal groups across the companyReview, prepare, and negotiate documents related to innovative transactions, and ensure the accomplishment of the company’s goalsAssists with managing 3

party outside counsel in various subject mattersStructure and negotiate transactions and other strategic transactions for the family office, non-profits, and related companiesAssist with employment matters, including policy development, enhancement, and trainingsAssist with litigation, disputes, and fact findingProvide practical legal advice and counsel and act as trusted advisor to the company, executive personnel, and other internal groupsUnderstand the company’s objectives, develop creative solutions, and resolve issues using the legal framework and the company’s core valuesKeep current on new and emerging laws and policy developments impacting the companyProvide support in other legal matters and issues as neededQualificationsJuris Doctor with excellent academic credentials and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdictionAt least four (4) years’ experience in the practice of law, with relevant experience in transactional law, including drafting of contracts, negotiating business and real estate transactions, and estate planningPrior in-house experience a plusHistory of effectively balancing and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously, establishing a role as a trusted advisor, and providing innovative solutions in a complex and fast-paced environmentFlexibility and ability to deal with ambiguities in the law and tackling cutting edge issuesAbility to work with teams and embrace appropriate risk-taking to achieve programmatic objectivesAbility to work with flexibility, efficiency, enthusiasm, and diplomacy both individually and collaboratively as part of a team effortStrong interpersonal skills, maturity, sound judgement and the ability to communicate and interact effectivelyHighest standards of ethics and integrityFamiliarity with the real estate and employment laws and regulations a plus
