If you have a passion for government affairs and a proven track record in legislative processes, this is the perfect opportunity for you!Position Overview:As the Senior Manager, Government Affairs, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for developing and maintaining legislative, advocacy, and grassroots activities. You will work closely with internal departments to further advance our mission and enhance member activism.Key Responsibilities:Develop and manage advocacy, legislative, and policy strategies and campaigns.Serve as staff liaison with legislative action committees and CAI’s Government and Public Affairs Committee.Manage grassroots advocacy and recruitment strategies, including organizing the annual Advocacy Summit and other grassroots training.Support and publicize talking points, issue resources, and graphics to promote public policy positions.Track and analyze state and federal legislation.Foster positive working relationships with members and cross-promote from all membership.Manage relationships with vendors and software for advocacy/grassroots and legislative tracking systems.Provide staff support for GPA and LAC Committees meetings and volunteers.Oversee social media content and schedule for the department.Maintain and update the advocacy webpage with resources and information.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in political science, liberal arts, legal studies, public affairs, or related field.5-8 years of experience in government affairs, with a focus on legislative tracking, research, and communication.Comprehensive knowledge of legislative and executive systems at federal, state, and local levels.Strong writing and proof-writing skills, with the ability to articulate policy and advocacy communications effectively.Excellent problem-solving, strategic, and analytical thinking abilities.Ability to understand, analyze, and summarize complex legislative and policy issues.Effective organizational skills, including strategic planning, project, and time management.Ability to work cross-functionally with volunteers, members, association chapters, and staff.Why Join Us?Be a part of a team that is making a real impact in the community.Engage in meaningful work that supports public policies and legislative priorities.Collaborate with passionate professionals dedicated to advocacy and public affairs.Enjoy opportunities for professional growth and development.How to Apply:Submit your resume, cover letter detailing your experience, qualifications and salary requirements (will not be considered if not provided).Join us in our mission to drive positive change through effective government affairs and advocacy!
